Driven by the clever, uplifting, high energy songs by charismatic lead singer/guitarist Kyle Hooks and family patriarch Nicky Hooks, who is also the five piece band’s bassist, The Real Hooks have been lighting up audiences of multiple generations in their hometown of Pensacola, Florida and beyond since 2009. Their dynamic performances and infectious songs are hard to resist, and Kyle says they are all about “putting smiles on people’s faces.” The Real Hooks have averaged 35-40 shows a year, including performing at numerous festivals and opening for popular acts including We The Kings, Aaron Carter, Go Radio, Hawthorne Heights and Allstar Weekend. The Hooks family’s powerful musicality, relatable songs and soaring harmonies draw an inspiring mix of screaming young female fans and parents who become equally wrapped up in the fun and excitement. Quickly emerging on the national scene, The Real Hooks, whose lineup also features Raleigh (drums and vocals), Nick (vocals and frontman antics) and Maggie (keyboards and vocals), enjoyed out of the box radio airplay success with their 2012 single “Comin’ After Your Love”. In 2013, The Real Hooks built on this momentum with their highly anticipated debut EP, now available on iTunes. Now, this energetic family band continues to amaze and entertain as their flair for songwriting and performance takes them across the southeast. Having recently written with Grammy and Emmy award winning songwriters, they perform their newest tunes (witty and upbeat “007,” addictively catchy and playful “Heart Attack,” “City Boy,” with a brilliant mix of southern sound and smart lyrics, and a thoughtful, heart-tugging ballad “Just How I Am,” to name a few) for fans, lovingly deemed “Hooksters”, as often as possible. Each new song ends up more memorable than the last while The Real Hooks keep crowds smiling and look forward to all that the future has in store.
